On August 3, 2007 - the Rec-Plex was officially renamed Siki Bennett Memorial Stadium to commemorate one of our local sports heroes. Siki Bennett (Richard N. Bennett) took it upon himself to construct an outdoor rink and organized local hockey teams including the St. George's Junior Aces and the St. George's Jets. He was involved with youth and hockey until his death at the age of 55 years.
